Members of all four parishes in the NE Catholic Community gathered recently to get to know each other and share hopes for how our Catholic Social Justice Ministries might take shape as we come together and how we can collaborate and support each other. We realized how much good work is already happening among us! Prayer and a delicious potluck enhanced the experience. If you are interested in learning more or discerning if your heart is being tugged toward addressing social problems through this parish ministry, contact Sr. Linda Riggers ([email protected]) or Katie Fleming ([email protected]) for info or ask to be added to the Justice and Peace email communications.

SVDP CHRISTMAS DRIVE
The Saint Vincent de Paul Conference at St. Catherine’s aims to assist 33 neighborhood families this Christmas, many of which are led by deaf, abuse-surviving mothers. With a goal of raising $4,000, we plan to provide food vouchers worth $30 per family member and $30 gift cards for each child under 18 to allow parents to shop for gifts and meals. Your generosity throughout the year has been remarkable, and we ask for your help once more. Please contribute by writing a check labeled for the SVDP Holiday Program or donating online via the parish website. Thank you for your continued support! Please click to donate.
The Saint Vincent de Paul Conference at St Catherine’s has committed to helping 23 neighborhood families during the Thanksgiving season. Our goal is to raise $2,100 to fund this effort. Approximately half of these families are headed by mothers who are deaf and have suffered abuse. We plan to provide each family with a voucher to purchase food for a meal they plan, shop for, and prepare. The voucher is to a local grocery store for $30 per person in the family.
Please help us, if you can, by:
1. Write a check, mark it clearly for the SVDP Holiday Program, and place it in the collection basket or mail it to the parish office.
2. Go to the parish website, click the SVDP Holiday Program button, and follow the directions to donate online.
You have been very generous in supporting us throughout the year, and we cannot thank you enough. We would appreciate your help with the Thanksgiving Program.
Thank you!
Join us for a special Thanksgiving Mass on Thursday, November 28, at 9 a.m. as we come together to give thanks for the many blessings in our lives. Please be aware that the parish office will be closed on November 28 and 29 in observance of the holiday. We wish you a joyful and blessed Thanksgiving!
Join us on November 16th for an Open House at the St. Catherine’s parish office! It’s a great opportunity to check out the recent renovation of the office, campus, and grounds, connect with the community, and learn more about what’s happening in the parish. Stay tuned for more details—we hope to see you there!

October 26th at 3:30 pm
St Catherine's is participating in the Maple Leaf Neighborhood Halloween Parade, which is sponsored by the Maple Leaf Community Council and neighborhood merchants. The parade starts at Maple Leaf Park at 3:30 pm, and the kids trick or treat around the neighborhood.
The parade of kids returns to the park east along NE 85th Street, so it is a great opportunity for us to highlight our St C and NESCC community and show the neighborhood we are more than a chain-link fence and parking lot!
We need at least four volunteers to hand out candy. Talk about a sweet gig!
Please email Parish Council member Katie Fleming asap if you can help [email protected].
It should be a hoot!
